Designing ESOL Instruction to Meet the Language Demands of College and Career

Join this session to explore planning effective lessons that address the Ohio Aspire ESOL standards, incorporate academic language and increase rigor at all levels. The presenter will share best practices and resources. Participants will engage in designing instruction for their student population. 

This session focuses on lesson planning and implementation of the Ohio Aspire ESOL standards that were released in FY19. The presenter will share evidence-based best practices for how to plan effective lessons, as well as resources, including an online resource collection and a self-directed lesson planning course. Participants will engage in activities to begin designing instruction for their specific student population. Participants will have the opportunity to submit their lesson plan in order to start building a bank of ESOL lessons for Ohio Aspire.
